Dana Bay is a conservancy in the heart of the famous Cape Floral Kingdom that is known for its coastal and limestone fynbos.

Wildlife such as bush buck, steenbok and Cape francolines meander through this tranquil coastel paradise whilst its endless golden beaches are home to a variety of sea birds including a colony of black oyster catchers, an endangered species.

Spectacular sea views makes it the ideal place to view whales with Southern Right Whales visiting its shores

Dana Bay is centrally situated within easy reach of superb restaurants, museums, harbour and yachting facilities and eco, adventure and sporting activities. It is only 20 minutes to George Airport.

Dana Bay is known for its coastal and limestone fynbos and all five vegetation types of the Cape Floral Kingdom are present in the greater Mossel Bay area.

The Cape Floral Kingdom covers only 0.02% of the world's land surfaces yet 8600 plants occur in the floral kingdom of which 5800 - or 68% are endemic (they can only be found in the Cape Floral Kingdom).

The five types of vegetation found are Fynbos (mountain, coastal and limestone), Renosterveld, Thicket, Succulent Karoo and Afromotane Forest. Fynbos constitutes 80% of the Cape Floral Kingdom and consists of Proteoids, Erica's, Restios and the geophytes, or bulbous plants.

Dana Bay Climate....
According to the Guinness Book of Records, this 'Karoo-by-the-sea' town has the second most moderate climate in the world, and has the only north facing beach in South Africa. The sea temperature in summertime is 20 to 22 degrees C, and in the winter 14 to 16 degrees C.

The average temperatures for September - May is 21 to 28 degrees C, and May to Sept. is 16 to 21 degrees C .
