Brenton On Sea is named after Sir Jaheel Brenton, the British admiral who opened Knysna harbour. It is now a sanctuary for the rare Brenton-Blue Butterfly.

Be aware of the wild tortoise slowly crossing the road and glimpse the elusive mongoose. Go down to the water's edge on the lagoon and fish from shore or paddle among the boats and canoes. Bring your own and launch from the jetty while enjoying one of the best views of Knysna and the lagoon.

Brenton On Sea Climate
Brenton On Sea has a moderate climate. Summer temperatures soar above 30 degrees on a few days only; during the winter season the coldest nights are around 5 degrees - but during the usually sunny days 18 to 20 degrees are quite common, even in July and August. This is the perfect season for hiking and biking!
