Lying on the edge of the city, the small, yet vibrant and lively suburb of Green Point is found about a kilometre north of Sea Point, on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard. It is conveniently located just behind the V&A Waterfront which is within walking distance. Green Point is the hub of Cape Town's nightlife, and is one of the trendiest places to hang out in Cape Town at the moment. Those looking for entertainment have a great variety of restaurants, delis and coffee bars - most with fabulous views of the Atlantic Ocean and of Robben Island - to frequent during the day and busy, lively pubs, clubs and cabaret restaurants after dark. |
Staying in Green Point gives travellers easy access to some of the best attractions that Cape Town has to offer.
It is currently the hub of Cape Town's after dark activities. A new development (The Cape Quarter) has completely revitalised the area, and brought the thronging crowds back into Green Point.
For most of your shopping needs head to the Waterfront or Sea Point. There is however, a Woolworths, open until 21h00 most nights where you can purchase a selection of food and grocery items.
Green Point is famous for its big Sunday market. Thousands of stalls are set up around the Green Point stadium selling mainly African arts & crafts. It is open Sundays from 08h00 – 16h00.
