Clifton Beach lies at the northwest tip of South Africas Cape Peninsula. Clifton is a series of four beaches, each separated by a stretch of granite boulders.

While each of Cliftons beaches shine in their own right, its Fourth Beach that really appeals to trend-setters, because at Clifton, youre there to see and be seen - not swim. For a change of scene, stroll to a nearby cafe or ogle the beautiful people at the trendy restaurant which overlooks the beach and whose lawn is a popular landing spot for paragliders.
Cliftons sunsets are legendary, and for good reason too. Depending on the clouds the sky might be filled with candyfloss-wisps of pink, or a fading rainbow of colour from blood red on the horizon to midnight blue on the mountains behind.
On any summer evening, throngs of people make the pilgrimage down to the beach laden with picnic baskets for the tradition of evening "sundowners" - Drinks and snacks at sunset time. And as dusk sets in you will see the curve of the bay become decorated by rings of candlelight reflected in the sand.
