The Caledonia
Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape Accommodation
Steve Fick and Vanessa Nick run the 3-Star Caledonia bed-and-breakfast in the beautifully kept historical town of Graaff–Reinet, which is the fourth oldest town in South Africa and boasts many attractions such as museums, fossils, galleries, the breath-taking 'Valley of Desolation' and Karoo Nature Reserve. The Caledonia was initially a hotel in the 1850s, set up as the perfect stop-over for passing travelers - a tradition that continues today.
The Caledonia was then turned into a boarding house and then later into the bed and breakfast haven it is today. We offer six lovely rooms, each differently decorated. There are four rooms in the main house, all with en-suite bathrooms and double beds. In the private and peaceful garden there are another two rooms with en-suite bathrooms, double beds, and showers. Some of our rooms have an extra single bed, and more beds can be added to any of our rooms on request. |

Every room has a tea making facility and, on request, television sets are available. The garden boasts an open-air Jacuzzi, as well as park benches to sit on to while away the time watching the local indigenous bird life.
The Caledonia offers safe off-street parking, and we speak English, Afrikaans, German, and basic Spanish. We can arrange your suppers, tours, bookings at the local health hydro, and many more attractions. Whatever your needs, we will always be happy to make the arrangements wherever possible!
